Retail & Hospitality

Mr. Thayer and Mr. Norris represent a multitude of national retail and hospitality chains in disputes arising throughout the country. While the majority of their practice in this area is focused on defending claims of premises liability, their practice regularly includes the representation of retail and hospitality clients in relation to the contractual, commercial and property disputes that regularly arise in the retail and hospitality industries.

Transportation Defense

Mr. Thayer and Mr. Norris spend a large amount of their time defending local, regional, national and North American commercial motor carriers and other transportation clients with respect to a variety of claims, including claims for negligence and/or wanton operation, negligent and/or wanton hiring, training and supervision, and claims of vicarious liability. In addition to claims arising in tort, Mr. Thayer and Mr. Norris also have a great deal of experience representing their clients in disputes arising from the various commercial contracts that necessarily exist in the transportation and logistics industry.

Rideshare & Gig Economy

With the advent of the Gig Economy over the course of the last decade, Mr. Thayer and Mr. Norris have successfully transitioned their practice to accommodate the unique legal issues facing rideshare and transportation network companies, as well as other technology companies, which regularly find themselves in need of legal representation with respect to liability claims, contractual and commercial disputes, and regulatory issues - the legal landscape of which is regularly evolving.

Insurance Defense & Coverage Litigation

Any litigation practice requires an understanding of insurance coverage and the implications of litigation on both insurers and insureds. Throughout the course of their respective practices, Mr. Norris and Mr. Thayer have developed an understanding of the ins-and-outs of all types of insurance coverage and how the insurance contract between the insurance carrier and their client insured, their obligations to the insured client carriers, their insureds, and the legal standard with respect to insurance coverage.
